    I might offer a correction in that the coven Gardner claims to have been initiated into is cited elsewhere as having been called the New Forest Coven. Personally I am as I tend to term it a solitary syncretic eclectic neopagan witch, a genereal magick practitioner, and I also am an amatuer busker/stage magician who does street performance off, and on. I also mostly started in Wicca though I had realized that my personal beliefs were along those of a magickal enchanted viewpoint fron a much earlier age than when I discovered others have similar belief systems in my preteens. I'm interested in anything magickal, paranormal, supernatural, or otherwise potentially in a related category.

    So no white sage then what should I use to clean energy in house ?

    • @BlazeLeeDragon
      @BlazeLeeDragon Місяць тому

      its not that I am saying dont' use white sage, but if you are, be careful and aware of where its sourced from and that its by no means the only method for cleansing a home. but there are TONS of methods out there. it all comes down to what culture you come from or your people. some people like to connect with what their ancestors use to do. but just a handful of examples is sprinkling of pine needles to cleanse the home, inside or outside. In Irish traditions water or candle light is used In Scotland saining, which is also a smoke method but typically something like juniper is used. christians have used frankincense and myrrh for their smoking/house blessing. in Mediterranean traditions they use lavender or rosemary. Islamic traditions use a method called Ablution In various African traditions Benzoin Resin is burned and this is just a small sample for a handful of examples, but kinda goes the point I'm bringing up in the video. so many people just burn white sage thinking its smudge and act like its their only option when its not and most of the time they are not even smudging correctly.

    Hi Blaze! I really enjoyed this and enjoy all of your videos. I participated in a public Beltaine gathering officiated by Raymond Buckland when I lived in Phoenix, AZ which was quite interesting and attended a lecture he gave one year at the Real Witch's Ball in Ohio that was put on by AJ Drew who was popular at the time. It was a three day event and drew people from all around the world. Raymond Buckland signed my copy of the Blue Book which is one of my cherished treasures. It would have been nice if you had shared about Gavin and Yvonne Frost who were also very significant in the movement. I attended the Real Witch's Ball two years in a row. The first year I was there AJ Drew used the event to do a magickal working against the Frost's and accused them of child abuse. I thought he was being real stupid to send energy against the Frost's as they were the real thing. The next year was the last year of the Real Witch's Ball because AJ Drew had suffered some brain damage through electrocution because of a flooding in his forge area I think. It was really sad. He was having some difficulties. AJ Drew wrote several books for Llewelynn Books. Correction: Saturday, November 4, 1-11pm, Greater Columbus Convention Center, 400 N. High St. The Columbus Witches’ Ball is an annual celebration that takes place every year around Halloween (Samhain). It is a chance for witches, druids, heathens, pagans, and other open-minded people to gather together and celebrate our community, to have ritual, to dance, and to get our groove on. It is an evening full of laughter and fellowship with old friends and new. The Ball has a rich history here in Central Ohio, going back to the days of “The Real Witches’ Ball” that A.J. Drew and his store, Salem’s West, used to host back 20 plus years ago. After A.J. retired, Psyche North Torok, owner of Fly-by-Night, took over the event a couple of years later, renaming the event “The Witches Ball.” It was during her run with the ball that Michael and Seamus began co-hosting the event. First with their grove, Three Cranes Grove, ADF, and later with their store The Magical Druid. After Psyche retired, they began hosting the event first in the store, and then later at the First Unitarian Universalist Church. After a few years of being restricted by the size of the church, they moved to the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The event continues to evolve, and in 2021, they added several vendors and co-sponsors.

      Joe great to hear from you, I hope you are doing well. Thank you for the support I am glad you enjoyed it. That is really awesome you got to meet him, he seems like a pretty neat guy. I had heard of the witches ball, I had several friends who attended who thought I should go as well but I never did. Oh there are a ton of other authors I probably could have included. The Frosts where kinda of all over the place. I don't know a ton about them but they didn't start with wicca only adapted the name I believe and ended up not sticking with the term I think.

    • @joebandel1589
      @joebandel1589 2 місяці тому

      @@BlazeLeeDragon Gavin and Yvonne started the Church and School of Wicca as a legal entity. My opinion is that rather than being ritually traditional they were energetically traditional and very much results oriented. I've several of their books that are quite interesting. If it got results who cares if it was traditional seemed to be their attitude. Gavin was a rocket scientist and Yvonne a member of MENSA. So their movement was something that could have been interesting . . . The reconstruction traditionalists got a bit bent out of shape over them though! I always thought that energetically they were the real deal and not people to mess with. I suspect that what happened to AJ Drew may have been the backlash of his attempted public group magickal working against them. . .

    I remember a few years back I made up and read aloud my own "summoning incantations" in the upstairs part of my old house. Everytime I would read them I would hear a paper somewhere in the room start sliding. One time I did a big ritual to create a poltergeist thoughtdorm for fun, and afterwards the garbage bag in my kitchen began shaking/flapping back and forth on it's own, no wind. It did that for about 1-2 minutes before slowing down and stopping. I've tried it in other locations but nothing happens, it only seems to work effectively in that old house.

    Well living here in Tucson we have sage growing everywhere and I mean everywhere tons and tons of it now I don’t agree with mass picking and getting rid of it just to sell it but if you just go out and pick a bag full for yourself like I just did and make my own sage stick which I just did. I use it to keep bugs away basically and I might joke around about selling it which I never would, but I see no problem with people getting a bag full and making their own, if you saw how much sage I see when I make my videos you be surprised and that’s just in the Tucson area but I believe Sage is for everybody so it’s not something you should just leave to a certain group of people everybody uses it for different reasons. I do have some that I bought that I use in the house once in a great while, but no, I don’t like the mess picking of it not even sure if they have Fields that they grow it and then pick it who knows I didn’t think too much about it to be honest, but it works great for bugs. That’s all I can tell you.

      nice, I see nothing wrong with doing as you like but I do think folks should consider the source of where its harvested and consider other sources of cleansing if they are just doing it because they think its the only method.

    There is no place on earth and no time in human history where “being there first” gave a person or people the right to that place for eternity, this is 100% a modern concept. The history of humanity, like or not, is that if you are strong enough to protect and hold your land then it’s yours, if not then someone stronger will take it from you. Do people think that every native Americans tribe drew their borders when they arrived at their land (yes it is also true that native anericans did not spring up from the dirt in north America) and then for millennia no other tribe could cross those lines? Of course not!! Another thot about this topic, what kind of selfish, self centered and egotistical culture has a beneficial practice that they claim no one else can ever use? The idea is utterly ridiculous.

    • @BlazeLeeDragon
      @BlazeLeeDragon 2 місяці тому

      interesting rant, I'm not really sure where you are going with this. modern concept? yes, luckily we live in an age where we are all not trying to kill each other take land from one another. Hopefully that doesn't change, I'm not sure if you are trying to glorify or that you want it back or something. "what kind of selfish, self centered and egotistical culture"?...a lot of them what do you think "cultural appropriation means? but again not sure why you are bringing this up. The point of this video is to bring up too points: 1) if you are going to use white sage, consider where it is sourced from. I'm not sure why people would support mass destroying a plant from land that doesn't belong to them. a lot of folks have commented they grow there own, great solution but not the only one. 2) why white sage? this is because people don't stop to think they hear something and act like its the only method. need to cleanse? burn white sage. feel like there is something bad spiritually? burn white sage. about to meditate? burn white sage... its a played out troupe that is limiting when there are far more readily available methods including methods that actually help someone connect with their own family and ancestors, should they be so inclined to do so.

      That is a pretty bold accusation. Check this out: www.britannica.com/story/what-is-cultural-appropriation "Cultural appropriation takes place when members of a majority group adopt cultural elements of a minority group in an exploitative, disrespectful, or stereotypical way. To fully understand its consequences, though, we need to make sure we have a working definition of culture itself." suggesting folks look outside of just wicca and realize there are other paths to spirituality is hardly "praising cultural appropriation".

      a witch. modern "witches" use the label for both men and women. witch is from the old english words "wice" and "wica" pronounced something like "wit-che" and "wit-cha". "wit-cha" is a male title, where as "wit-che" is a female title. today it just evolved into witch. some people will have hardcore feelings towards using witch only for woman, as historically when the name started popping for the witch trials it was considered a woman's craft but not all modern witches view it that way. so you'll find many men who call themselves witches.

    My path is unique to me. Sure, there are many clearings with well worn trails... places to meet with fellow travelers or briefly cross paths. Where I came from - and my destination - are unique to me. Both the shorcuts and the long ways around are mine alone. Even if I wanted to, I don't think I could share my path... but I could guide someone to the clearings and the beaten trails...

    I was interested in Nordic culture when I was a teenager and this interest disappeared throughout my adult life, at least until recently when, going through a great difficulty, I concluded that I needed to become a stronger and braver man. I found the inspiration I was looking for reading about the Templars and Vikings
